Description

Russell House is an isolated row house situated on the corner of Victoria Street and George Court, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed and squared limestone, with a concrete tile roof. It is two storeys high with an attic, featuring a single window at the front. A 3-light chamfer-mullion casement window with a glazed door sits within a square opening on the ground floor; the first floor has a similar 2-light casement. A 20th-century gabled dormer window is also present. Horizontal plat bands delineate each floor. The return wall on the left side is constructed of stone and incorporates a stone stack raised within concrete blockwork, alongside a lean-to extension with a further door. A large 3-light dormer window is located at the rear of the property. Russell House holds an important position within the streetscape and is included for group value.
