Description
Number 6 on Ellerncroft Road is a dwelling that was formerly an inn, dating back to the 17th century. The building features a pebble-dash exterior and a concrete tile roof. It has a large L-shaped structure, with the main front facing at a right angle to the street and a hipped roof at the outer corner. The front elevation, which is two storeys high, has five window openings fitted with unbarred sash windows and a central six-panel door, four of which are glazed, topped with a segmental head.
The return front on the east side is divided into two sections but maintains a continuous appearance. The roof slopes down on the right half. This section is also two storeys high, with two window openings on the left and one on the right, featuring irregularly placed and varied sash windows. There is an opening to the cellar on the left side of the central area, but there is no door present on this front. The left section has a steeply pitched roof with gable stacks, and there is a centrally located moulded and stopped beam on the ground floor.
