Description
Merlin Haven House is a dwelling built in the early 19th century. It features smooth rendered walls and a stone slate roof, with Welsh slate on the back wing. The house is a large detached structure with a wide front that runs parallel to the street, facing south. The garden front has two storeys and includes five windows on the upper floor, consisting of three wide-spaced sashes and two closer grouped sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has new French doors and two sashes with bars. A six-panel door, mostly new and glazed, is set beneath a deep stone projecting Doric portico with responds and a flat entablature. The wall along Lisle Place and Lane is 6 feet 6 inches high, made of rubble with a flat stone coping, which is very important for the enclosure in the townscape.
