Description

An inn, later divided into two attached houses, dating to the 17th century with alterations in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of random rubble with pantile roofing to the left-hand section (number 13), which has a hipped roof to the right; the right-hand section (number 15) has a double-Roman tile roof. Three brick stacks are visible from the 19th century. The overall arrangement is of two storeys and three bays on the left, with an irregularly placed two-light stone-mullioned window featuring ogee moulding. The right bays are set back and contain 12-pane sash windows within bead-moulded stone surrounds. A plain block surround frames the door opening to number 13, leading to a six-panelled door with glazed upper lights. Number 15 has a bead-moulded stone surround to its door, which is a 20th-century replacement under a moulded slab hood supported by elaborately carved stone brackets.
