Description
Cotswold House is a large detached dwelling located in Wotton-under-Edge. It dates from the 17th century, with remodelling and extensions from the 18th and 19th centuries. The front is rendered, while the gabled backs are constructed of rubble, topped with a stone slate roof. The street-facing side has a simple appearance with a parapet, while the rear is more complex, featuring a 19th-century wing on the left and 19th-century infill in the center. The building has two storeys and four windows across the front: the left side has half sash windows with glazing bars and a six-panel door with a fanlight, while the right side features three-light sashes with wooden mullions. The rear mainly consists of sash windows with glazing bars, stepped voussoirs, except for the right gable, which has timber lintels. Inside, the property retains 18th or early 19th-century shutters and staircase, a well-preserved panelled room with bookcases, and heavy roof timbers from the 17th century.
