Description
Oakhunger Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from 1777, as indicated by the datestone and initials TA on the north side. It is constructed from random coursed and snecked rubble sandstone, topped with a concrete tile roof and featuring brick stacks. The building has a T-shaped layout that includes a 19th-century brick extension on the northwest side. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has scattered windows, mostly consisting of two and three-light casements with wooden lintels. The back door, located at the top of the T on the north side, has a plain wood frame and a plank door. The front door, which is glazed, is situated in the 19th-century wing and features a gabled hood supported by brackets. Inside, the main wing contains a large room on the ground floor, which is notable for its very large crossing beams supported by a central square panelled pillar, along with fireplaces at each end that are likely original.
