Description

The footbridge over the Little Avon River connects Berkeley Castle with Berkeley Stables and Kennels. It was built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The bridge features a round arch supported by piers, measuring about 8 meters wide and standing 3.5 meters above the water level at the keystone. It has evenly cut stone voussoirs and a dropped enlarged keystone, along with an offset and blocking course above, which includes an extra course at each of the four corners. The pathway on the bridge is approximately 1.5 meters wide, making the total width of the bridge about 2.5 meters.
