Description
Salt House is a detached house built in the early 18th century. It features a brick exterior on a stone plinth, a slate roof, and brick end stacks. The building has a modillion eaves cornice and a single-brick string course. It is designed in an L-shape, with two storeys and an attic. The front has three windows, which are 12-pane sashes with splayed brick voussoirs and moulded wood architraves. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows flanking a central doorcase that is accessed by three splayed stone steps. The door is a six-panel design, with the top two panels glazed and the rest recessed, and it features a large flat hood with dentils supported on brackets. There are three gabled dormers, each with twin casements. At the rear angle, there is a four-panel door with a plain flat hood, along with wood mullion and transom windows.
