Description
The gate piers, steps, and gate to Overend House date from the 18th and 19th centuries. They feature limestone piers and a cast iron gate. The piers, which are square and flank a 1.8-meter wide opening, have two fielded panels on their faces, a moulded base, and capping that includes ball finials. However, the finials and much of the piers are concealed by heavy ivy. There are two semi-circular steps leading to a small 19th-century iron gate on the east side, which has a fixed side panel and stands approximately 2 meters high. Beyond this gate, there are two additional steps and one step leading to the door of the house.
