Description
117 and 119 Southgate Street is a house that was converted into a restaurant around 1990. The building dates back to around 1820 and has had some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and has a slate roof. The structure is a double-depth block with a wing at the rear, located at the north-east corner of Southgate Street and Spa Road.
The exterior features three storeys, with a crowning cornice and parapet at the top. On the ground floor, there are 20th-century windows and a doorway on the right leading to the interior, along with another doorway on the left that provides access to a side passage. The first floor has three tall sash windows, while the second floor has three shorter sash windows. All windows have glazing bars and are set in their original openings, which have flat-arched heads and projecting sills. The interior has not been inspected.
