Description

Three houses built in a terrace, dating to the early 19th century, with alterations made in the later 19th and 20th centuries. The houses are constructed of stuccoed brick, with slate roofs and brick stacks on the party walls. They are double-depth houses with rear wings.

The houses are three storeys high, with basements and front areas. The floor level of number 3 is slightly lower, and its front is recessed. The fronts of numbers 3 and 5 feature crowning cornices, and all three houses have coped parapets. Each property’s entrance doorways are accessed by flights of stone steps leading down from the basement level. Number 3 has a doorway on the right with a semicircular arched head and a fanlight, and a tripartite window on the left, both with later plain sash windows. The upper floors of number 3 each have two later plain sashes in original openings with projecting stone sills. Number 5 has a doorway on the left with a semicircular arched head and a bat-wing fanlight, and two later sashes featuring central vertical glazing bars to the right. Each upper floor of number 5 also has two later sashes of a similar design, in original openings with projecting stone sills. Number 7 has a doorway on the right with a semicircular arched head and a fanlight, a 20th-century glazed panel door, and two later plain sashes to the left. The upper floors of number 7 each have three later plain sashes, all within original openings with projecting stone sills. The interior was not inspected. The front areas are separated by coped parapet walls, and each has wrought-iron railings along the street front.
