SO 71 NW HUNTLEY ROSS ROAD (north side)

7/61 Lamp post, in churchyard, about 10m south west of porch of Church of St. John the Baptist

GV II

Lamp-post; late Cl9: cast-iron standard, iron top. Post has flared base, fluted stem, cross bar and moulded top. Above a swan-neck top, dropping to a clear glass ball, open top and bottom: glass in a copper frame, in 12 pieces. Centre band wide, decorated with acroteria; at top a pierced ring, fanning out above, with crinkled edge. Overall shape a sphere. Now adapted for electricity: a little of glass broken. One of two.
