Keeper'S Cottage

Keeper's Cottage is a house that likely dates from the mid to late 17th century. It features a timber frame set on a stone plinth, with some sections filled with coursed brick nogging and wattle and daub. The roof is covered with diamond asbestos slates, while an extension has a tiled roof. The cottage is two stories tall and consists of two rooms, with gable chimneys and a one-bay extension on the left side.

The front has two windows, with the framing consisting of four panels high; the panels on the right are narrower than those on the left. The main beams above the rooms are tenoned through the studs and pegged. There is a planked front door located off-center to the right, which is sheltered by a gabled timber porch with a shingled roof. The front also features later wooden casement windows and a scalloped eaves board.

The left extension has a brick ground floor with a planked door and a timber casement window set under a cambered brick arch, while the upper floor is timber framed. At the rear, there are remnants of planted meads and sills for projecting three-light oriel windows, which have since been replaced with wooden casements that are flush with the wall. The original windows had diamond-set bars in the center, and there are still heads remaining for two similar windows on the first floor at the front. The house can only be accessed from one side.
