Description

The Lucas Memorial is a pedestal tomb located approximately 23 metres north-west of the west door of the Church of St Peter in Newnham. It dates from 1783 and is made of limestone. The memorial features a large stone base that was formerly surrounded by railings, a square pedestal supported by Greek Doric columns at each corner, and a flat pyramidal top. The inscription on the memorial reads "LUCAS, 1783."
