Description
The Lucas memorial is a chest tomb located about 8 yards south of the nave of the Church of St Mary the Virgin. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a moulded plinth and flat capping, along with a panelled frieze and shaped inscription panels. It commemorates Sarah Lucas, who died in 1821. This large chest tomb is situated close to the church and is included for its group value.
