Description

The Lucas Monument, located in the churchyard of St. Mary in Edith Weston, was erected in 1816. It is made of stone and features a plinth and a square pedestal with chamfered corners, standing approximately 2 meters high. The top of the monument slopes and is topped with an urn, which is finely carved and moulded, although the right handle of the urn is missing. The monument bears an inscription dedicated to Richard Lucas, who died in 1816. It is situated to the east of the church, near the churchyard wall.
