Description
The former railway bridge, located over the road to Staunton, was built in the mid-19th century on a dismantled line between Coleford and Monmouth. It is constructed from rock face rubble stone that is squared and arranged in courses, featuring a skewed brick tunnel vault. Each end of the vault is decorated with four courses of sloping brick headers. The bridge has very large abutments on both the north and south sides, also made from rock face squared rubble stone. This structure is a notable example of a skew bridge and remains in good condition without any patching.
