Description

The Incline Overbridge, located at National Grid Reference SO 536102, is an early 19th-century tram bridge that spans a road and a mill leat. Constructed from squared rubble stone with tooled stone voussoirs, it features a steeply inclined and elongated structure. The bridge has a tunnel arch that runs east to west across the road, a circular aperture to the north on the east side, and three blind arches to the south on the west side. This bridge supported the incline of the Redbrook Tinplate Branch of the Monmouth tram road, which was opened in 1812 to connect Howler's Slade, Coleford, and Monmouth.
