Description
The former tramroad bridge over the Sirhowy River is a Grade II listed structure built of rubble. It features a wide segmental arch made with cut stone voussoirs and has a projecting keystone. Above the arch, there is a stringcourse. On either side of the bridge to the east, there are splay-arches that allow the tramroad tracks to fan out towards the ironworks site to the northeast; these splay-arches are part-segmental and meet the main bridge about 50 centimeters short of the keystones. The bridge has low parapets topped with cement copings and 20th-century metal fencing. It continues to the southwest as revetments and extends to the east and west alongside Dukestown Road.
