Description

Whelford Little Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with an early 18th century wing on the left and a replica 20th century wing on the right. The building is constructed of coursed rubblestone and features a stone slate roof, with a short brick end stack on the left and a stone end stack on the right, both topped with moulded cornices.

The main section is a single range, consisting of two storeys and an attic in the central part, with two storeys on either side. The central gable is prominent, featuring a large 2-light stone mullion window with a square hoodmould above, a 3-light window on the first floor, and a 4-light window on the ground floor, all adorned with relieving arches. There is a single light in a stone frame at each end of the ground floor of the main section, and a stone doorcase to the left of centre, which has moulded jambs and lintel, a square hoodmould, and a vertical battened plank door, also with a relieving arch.

The left wing has a hipped stone slate roof and contains two 2-light wood casements on each floor, with timber lintels on the ground floor and directly below the eaves on the first floor. The right-hand wing matches the left but has slightly larger windows and quoins at the front corner. The interior is not accessible.
