Description
This is a barn and adjoining stable located immediately east of Can Court, likely built in the mid to late 18th century. The structure is made of coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a central flush cart entry on the west side, which includes a notched timber lintel and double timber doors. There is an opposing projecting gabled entry with flush quoins, a timber lintel, double timber doors, and a small two-light window above it.
On the north side, there is a lean-to that projects to the east, originally featuring a two-bay animal shelter between the lean-to and the cart entry, now modified with doors to each bay and a corrugated iron roof. The lean-to on the left has double Roman tiles and a wooden strut, with a further corrugated iron lean-to beyond. The barn consists of five bays, each with true tie beams on either side of the opposing entries, and the tie beams are bolted to the principal rafters, with each truss also having a collar beam.
The stable to the south includes a small lean-to at the angle with the barn on the west side, featuring a stable door and a small two-light window. There is a gabled loft opening to the east with shutters, a small hopper light to the left, and a blocked doorway on the ground floor in between. The interior retains stalls and a cobbled floor.
