Description

This is a mid-18th century barn and stable, with later additions to the stable section. The building is constructed of red sandstone with stone slate eaves courses to pantile roofs. It is two storeys high and has a three-bay barn section to the left and a one-bay stable addition to the right.

The barn has large quoins, a wide central doorway with an ashlar surround and plain lintel, and a blocked slit vent inserted to the right of the doorway, also with a plain lintel. There are square first-floor hatches with rebated surrounds, shaped kneelers, and gable copings. The stable addition features walling courses that continue through, with large quoins on the right. It has a doorway with a plain lintel, a casement window to its right, and a slatted casement window above. The stable section has a lower roof with a plain verge on the right.

At the rear of the barn, there is a doorway mirroring the front, and stone steps set on a brick wall lead to a boarded first-floor door on the left. The interior of the barn features principal-rafter trusses.
