Description
The Cottage adjoining Twyn Cottage, formerly owned by T.W. Simpson, is a 19th-century cottage located at the end of a row of buildings, which were originally two separate cottages set at slightly different angles. The structure is built from coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. It has a rectangular plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by three two-light roof dormers that have weatherboarded gables with cusped decoration.
The facade has five windows, including single and two-light wooden casements with glazing bars and cambered-headed surrounds. The left-hand cottage has a 20th-century part-glazed door with a flat-chamfered basket-headed surround positioned at the center. The former separate cottage on the right is fitted with two-light metal casements within cambered-headed surrounds, some of which only have horizontal glazing bars. The building features gable-end and axial stacks, with the gable-end stack having a moulded capping and skirting. The interior has not been inspected.
