Description
Twyn Cottage is a house in a row, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It is built of coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed stone quoins and has a concrete tile roof featuring brick stacks on the remnants of former ashlar stacks. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The facade has three windows, incorporating the left-hand bay of an earlier house to the right. The ground floor features three 3-light stone-mullioned casements, while the first floor has three two-light casements. All casements are fitted with stopped hoods and horizontal glazing bars. There are also two 2-light timber-clad dormers from the 20th century. The main entrance has a 20th-century plank door with fleur-de-lys strap hinges and a concrete lintel at the centre. To the right, there is another 20th-century plank door with fillets, a deep dressed stone lintel, and a stopped hood leading to a through passage. At the rear, the doorway has a flat-chamfered basket-headed surround. The house features gable-end and axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
