Description
Holly Cottage is a cottage located at the end of a row in Little Rissington, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and featuring a brick stack. The main body of the cottage has a rectangular plan with a small extension on the left gable end, while a 20th-century extension at the rear is not of special interest. The cottage is one and a half storeys high, with a gablet that is lit by a two-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement window at the front. There is a similar original three-light casement window on the ground floor to the left, and a tall 20th-century two-light casement window on the ground floor to the right. A blocked doorway is situated between the two windows. Additionally, there is a small two-light casement window on the upper floor of the left gable end and a single-storey curved extension, possibly a bread oven, below. Access to the cottage is now via the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
