Description
The open-fronted shelter located north of Hunter's Mead is a partly open-fronted shelter shed and stone-built store, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The store is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone. A portion of the open-fronted area has been converted into a dairy with concrete block walling. The roof is made of stone slate, with a small section covered in corrugated plastic. The structure has an 'L'-shaped plan that forms two sides of a three-sided yard, with the remaining buildings now associated with Porch Cottage. To the left, there is a stone-built store that projects forward, while to the right, the shelter shed features two timber uprights resting on stone padstones. The early vertical plank boarding with fillets to the right of the open front is a rare survival, adding to the building's historical significance.
