Description

The school building dates from the 19th century and was designed by Preedy. It is constructed from coursed, squared, and dressed limestone with a limestone slate roof, flat coping to the gable ends, and tall octagonal gable end stacks. Brick extensions with a grey slate roof have been added to the rear. The main limestone body comprises two rooms, with brick extensions projecting at right angles to the rear; the left extension extends further back than the right. The main facade is single-storey and features a three-window arrangement with three-light, flat-chamfered stone mullioned casements under stopped hoods. The central window has a taller central light with a stepped hood to match. The brick extension windows are triple and single lights with round heads and glazing bars. Entrances are located via four-centred arched doorways in the left and right walls.
