Description

Tudor House is a house located on High Street in Mickleton, dating from the early to mid-17th century for the main body, with a late 17th-century service wing attached. It is constructed of ashlar limestone and has a slate roof, featuring flat coping on the gable ends and dormers, which are topped with roll cross finials. The main body has twin ashlar stacks at the left gable end and another stack aligned with the front door, along with a triple stack from the right gable end. The late 17th-century extension has a single tall ashlar stack projecting from its gable end.

The main body consists of four rooms, one room deep, and was formerly designed with a cross passage. It has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by four Cotswold dormers with two-light flat-chamfered stone mullioned casements. The service wing on the right is one storey and an attic, featuring twin Cotswold gables and two, three, and four-light stone mullioned casements throughout. Most windows have stopped hoods, except for one single light window with a flat hood.

The front door, located off-centre to the right, is a 17th-century design with three fielded panels set in a moulded lugged architrave. There is a 20th-century porch attached to the left side of the main body, which has a four-centred arched doorway and a studded door. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace with a bressummer, tie beams with run-out stops, and some original panelling.
