Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on Chapel Lane in Mickleton, situated opposite The Three Ways Hotel. The cottage is oriented with its facade at right-angles to the road. It is constructed with a square timber frame and brick infill, set upon a limestone plinth. The right-hand wall is limestone, and the roof is tiled, originally thatched. A prominent ashlar stack with a moulded top, heightened in brick, rises from the gable end on the right. There’s also a brick stack extending from the eaves at the rear left. The attic space is lit by three gabled dormers just above the eaves, each with a 3-light window featuring diamond-leaded glass. The windows are modern metal casements with horizontal glazing bars. A pair of 4-panel doors are present, each sheltered by a tiled hood supported on wooden brackets.
