Description
The Old School House is a former school building, now a house, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, with some yellow brick and pantiled roofs, one of which has raised stone coped gables. The building has three yellow brick gable stacks and is a single storey plus attics with a three-bay front. To the left, there is a single bay two-storey block that has an off-centre four-panelled door set in a 20th-century pilastered wooden surround, flanked by a pair of two-light plain sash windows. To the left of this block, there is a similar window on each floor. All windows feature segmental yellow brick heads. In the roof to the right, there are two flat-roofed 20th-century dormers with two-light glazing bar casements.
