Description

WINDRUSH WINDRUSH VILLAGE SP 1913 10/274 No 1 Windrush (formerly listed as House 23.1.52 immediately south-east of the Vicarage) GV II

Detached house. Late C17-mid C18 and C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with ashlar facade to main body., Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks restored C20. Rectangular main body with C19 extension to right. Symmetrical, 3-windowed facade. Two storeys and attic. Double-chamfered 2-light casements to first floor with plain architraves. Three-light stone-mullioned with transoms and plain architraves to ground floor. Continuous dripmould over ground floor windows. Central C20 part-glazed door within flat-chamfered surround. C20 flat canopy on moulded stone brackets above. Two-storey C19 extension to right with C20 four- light wood casement with long concrete lintel to ground floor. Five-light casement to first floor. Stacks at gable ends of main body and C19 extension. Saddleback coping with moulded kneelers at gable ends of main body. Stacks at gable ends with skirtings. Cellar lit by stone-mullioned casement in rear wall. Interior not inspected.
