Description
No. 8 Windrush is an early to mid-18th century detached house with a later extension. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with an ashlar facade, and has a stone slate roof. The house has two rendered stacks on ashlar stumps and one ashlar stack. It is arranged in an 'L' shape with a symmetrical facade. The building is two storeys and has an attic. The facade has two windows, with three-light stone-mullioned casements featuring stopped hoods. A central 20th-century part-glazed door is set within a gabled porch of the same period. Two two-light roof dormers light the attic. A single-storey extension to the left includes a two-light casement with a stopped hood and a plank door. A three-light stone-mullioned casement is located in the right gable end. A blocked two-light stone-mullioned casement is visible in the north-facing gable. The gable ends feature flat and saddleback coping with moulded kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
