Description

Quinmoor Old Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house and Post Office. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The building is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone, featuring artificial limestone slates and ashlar stacks. The rear extension has a corrugated iron roof, which is not of special interest. The farmhouse has an 'L' shaped plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, which is lit by single light garret windows that have stone surrounds.

The facade has four windows, which are illuminated by two and three-light double-chamfered, stone-mullioned windows with stopped hoods. The windows to the left of the front door have ovolo-moulded mullions, and the ground floor windows have flat-arched heads above their hoods. The front door, dating from the 20th century, is a six-panel design set within a 'Tudor'-arched surround that features carved spandrels, a keystone, and imposts. At the rear, there is a blocked four-centred arched door with a window inserted into the blocking, and a small stone-mullioned window formed from a single block of stone with a hood. The interior has not been inspected.
