Description

BROADWELL CHAPEL STREET SP 2027 (north side) 9/91 Quinmoor Old Farmhouse (formerly listed as Quinmoor 25.8.60 House and Barns) GV II Marked as Quinmoor Farm on 6" O.S. Map. Former farmhouse now detached house and Post Office. Late C17-early C18 with C19 extension. Coursed squared and dressed limestone, artificial limestone slates, ashlar stacks. Corrugated iron roof to C19 extension at rear not of special interest. 'L' shaped plan. House 2 storeys and attic lit by single light garret windows with stone surrounds. 4-windowed facade lit by 2 and 3-light double- chamfered, stone-mullioned windows with stopped hoods, windows left of door with ovolo-moulded mullions. Flat-arched heads above hoods of ground floor windows. C20 six-panel front door within 'Tudor'- arched surround with carved spandrels, Keystone and imposts. Blocked 4-centred arched door at rear with window inserted in blocking. Small stone-mullioned window formed out of single block of stone with hood at rear. Interior not inspected.
