Description
Lower Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of ashlar with a limestone slate roof and features ashlar stacks. The main part of the house extends back to the rear right, while there is a 19th-century extension on the left gable end and 20th-century extensions at the rear, which are not of special interest.
The house has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by a single three-light roof dormer with a leaded segmental head. The symmetrical facade has three windows, mostly featuring 16-pane sash windows. The central entrance consists of a 19th-century six-panel door, with the upper four panels being glazed. The 19th-century extension on the left is at a lower level and has a 16-pane sash window on the upper floor. The roofs of both the main body and the 19th-century extension are hipped on the left side at the front. There are stacks from the former left gable end and from the axis at the rear right. The interior has not been inspected.
