Description

Broadmoor Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century, with some parts rebuilt and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, featuring dressed alternate quoins. The main body of the house has a stone slate roof, while the 19th-century extension has a red tile roof, with ashlar stacks that were restored in the 20th century.

The farmhouse has a complex plan and a four-windowed facade on the main body. It features a moulded plinth and is two storeys high with an attic, which is lit by three hipped roof dormers containing 4-pane sash windows. The windows include three and four-light stone-mullioned casements, the latter with king mullions, and there is a five-light canted bay window to the left. To the right, there is a rectangular bay with 4-pane sashes and two 4-pane sashes above.

An off-centre gabled porch is located to the left between the bays, featuring a 20th-century door with fillets set within basket-headed moulded surrounds. A band runs between the floors. The 19th-century extensions are found to the right, with a forward-facing gable on the left that has a 4-light stone-mullioned casement. An outbuilding on the right has a three-light stone-mullioned casement. The earliest part of the house is visible at the rear, which also has a moulded plinth and a two-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casement to the right of a 19th-century four-panelled door. Additional two and three-light stone-mullioned casements with flat-chamfered jambs are present, along with a band between the floors. The interior has not been inspected.
