Description

WICK RISSINGTON - SP 12 SE 1/270 Former Orangery, c80m east of Wick House Hotel GV II Former orangery now used as office. C18. Brick with an ashlar facade. Slate roof. Long rectangular piers. C20 rendered lean- to extensions at rear not of special interest. Symmetrical 1:11:1 windowed facade. The windows across the centre comprise tall 2- light fixed casements without glazing bars, fixed 8-pane lights above. Central door of similar design up 3 semi-circular stone steps. Doric pilasters between the windows. The outer pairs of pilasters appear to be C20. Pedimented gables far right and left each with a central, glazed pair of double doors with glazing bars. Two semi-circular stone steps up to each. Interior not inspected.
