Description

This is an orangery, built in the mid-18th century and now used as a house. It is situated approximately 30 metres north-west of Field House. The orangery is constructed of brick on a sandstone base, topped with a pyramidal roof featuring swept overhanging eaves and a weathervane. It has a square plan and two storeys, with a dentilled eaves cornice. The south elevation has three bays, each containing a tall window with a gauged flat head. These windows have moulded stone keyblocks and multi-paned casements. Circular windows are located on the first floor of the east and west elevations. A ground and first floor window with a cambered head and a late 20th-century multi-pane casement is present on the north elevation. The main entrance, in the east elevation, has a 20th-century door with a cambered head. A first-floor level was inserted when the building was converted into a house in the late 20th century.
