Description

Thicknall Farmhouse, now a house, was built in the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. It is constructed of finely jointed dark red brick, with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles and brick stacks at the rear. The house is three storeys high and originally had three bays. The ground and first floor windows have curved tops and moulded surrounds; the outer bays have 16-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, and 2-light casements on the second floor. The central first floor has a 12-pane sash window, and the second floor a 6-pane casement. The central entrance is sheltered by a flat canopy supported on consoles, and features a 20th-century glazed door with a barred, segmented fanlight above.
