Description
The orangery, now used as a garden house and tea-room, dates from the 18th century and is constructed of red brick. It features a hipped roof covered with diagonally-laid slate. The building is a single storey with a front that has five window bays, where the end bays are canted. The three central bays each contain pairs of glazed French windows that have margin glazing and top lights with semicircular and radial glazing bars. The canted bays are fitted with 4/4 sash windows, also featuring margin glazing and semicircular and radial glazing bars at the top. The windows are separated by brick pilasters that have moulded stone bases and capitals, which are linked by a continuous architrave. A central pediment with a brick tympanum is connected to a canted cornice, which is topped with a blocking course at the ends that has ball finials. There is a reset six-panelled door on the right side, and 19th-century windows can be found on the left and rear sides. The interior has not been inspected.
