Description
This is a sundial located to the south-west of Henley Hall, likely from the 19th century, which incorporates earlier materials. It is made of ashlar stone and features a single freestanding Corinthian column that is unfluted, set in a circular socket stone surrounded by four fluted colonnettes. The capital of the column supports a sundial block, which is a cube with a dial on each face, each equipped with metal gnomons positioned at different angles. At the top, there is a weather-vane adorned with a heraldic bird. This sundial is significant as it serves as the focal point of a fine early 19th-century formal rose garden.
