Description

A farmhouse dating to the late 17th and early 18th century, with alterations from the 19th century. It was unoccupied and undergoing restoration in April 1985. The farmhouse is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with quoins, and has a stone slate roof with outer pitches and double Roman tiles on the inner pitches. There are renewed stone end stacks with ashlar flues. It is a double range building, with a projection to the north at the rear. There are three windows on the front, with mostly leaded casements, including 3/2/3-light arrangements in flush stone surrounds. A 3-light window is also present on the ground floor to the right, and a 19th-century square bay with a 1/4/1-light stone mullion and transoms is located to the left. The central doorcase has a flat stone hood on brackets, sheltering a 6-panel door with the top two panels glazed and the lower four flush, set within a plain stone doorcase. The rear facade features three 2-light stone mullion and transom windows. One is similar to the left-hand front window on the ground floor, with a 19th-century bay mirroring the front bay to the right. A central round-headed plain stone doorcase has a radial fanlight and a 6-panel flush door. An additional 2-light stone mullion and transom window is situated to the left in the extension of the rear range. Both ground floor windows on the left have stone relieving arches.
