Description
Low Force Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. The main range is two stories high and consists of three bays, with a three-story wing at the rear left. The central entrance features a six-panel door set in a plain ashlar surround. The windows are primarily sash windows with glazing bars, except for a four-pane sash located above the door. There are indications of blocked mullion windows, and stone gutter brackets are present. The end stacks are positioned at either end of the building.
On the rear elevation, there is a blocked single-light chamfered window with a hood-mould on the first floor. The right side of the building has a projecting chimney breast, a blocked two-light chamfered mullion window on the ground floor, and single-light windows on the first floor and loft. The left side of the wing features a plinth, with two- and one-light windows on the ground floor, two four-pane sashes on the first floor, and two tall, narrow chamfered lights with stanchions on the second floor.
