Description
High Force Farmhouse and attached outbuildings date from 1710, with later alterations. The farmhouse is rendered, while the outbuildings are constructed of rubble and topped with stone slate roofs. The building stands two storeys high, featuring three first-floor windows, with single-storey outbuildings projecting forward at either end.
The farmhouse has a central 20th-century door set in an ashlar surround. Above this door, on the first floor, there is a removed door lintel from the rear elevation, which has a recessed panel and raised lettering that reads "IAB 1710". The sash windows, which have glazing bars and stone surrounds, include a bay to the left that may serve as fire-windows for the left room. There are stacks at both ends and between the first and second bays.
The outbuildings feature quoins and each has a round-arched cart opening made of rubble voussoirs with a hood-mould. The left opening has garage doors, while the right one is blocked. The outbuildings have a hipped roof. On the left return of the right outbuilding, there are two double pairs of bee-boles.
