Description

The Cart Shed at Park Farm is an 18th-century building constructed from limestone rubble with a Cotswold stone slate roof. It is a long, low, open-fronted structure featuring 10 bays, with a hipped roof at both ends. The front is supported by 9 circular rubble columns and square end piers. Inside, the space is divided into two sections by a modern concrete block wall located on a central pier. Each pier supports a principal rafter truss that is halved and pegged at the apex, and all the roof timbers are original. This cart shed is a large, unaltered, and well-preserved example of its type in the Cotswolds.
