Description

Garden Cottage comprises two adjoining cottages, dating from the late 18th century, with alterations made to No. 18 in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone, partly painted, with a stone slate roof and three rebuilt stone slacks. They form an L-shaped range.

No. 16, on the right, has one first-floor window positioned centrally, featuring small-pane casements under an original timber lintel. The ground floor includes a half-glazed recessed door to the left, a two-light window with nine panes to each light in the centre, and a small multi-pane paired casement to the right, all with original timber lintels. A possible blocked doorway is located to the right of the centre window.

No. 18, to the left, has two windows with renewed eight-pane casements and timber lintels. A glazed door is set on the ground floor to the right. The left-hand return features a ground-floor bay. A rear wing incorporates a 20th-century gabled porch, four small gabled dormers through the eaves, and mostly 20th-century casement windows.
