Description

Pond Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with significant expansions made to the east and north in the late 19th to early 20th century. The original core is built of rubble stone, while the later additions are made of coursed stone, with a partly rendered rear. The building features alternating flush quoins and a stone slate roof, originally having stone end stacks with a moulded cornice on the main range, which is now connected on the right to later wings. There are two large lateral stone stacks on the later wings.

The farmhouse consists of a single original range with two parallel gabled rear wings and two large wings to the east, all of which are two storeys high with an attic. The main section has four windows, which are two-light stone mullions with relieving arches and leaded casements. The ground floor windows have square hoodmoulds, and there are 20th-century glazed double doors in the second bay from the left. There are two gabled dormers, likely from the 19th century. The eastern wing features a three-light stone mullion with a square hoodmould on both the ground and first floors on the south side. The fenestration of the later ranges generally includes stone mullions, and both ranges have two-storey canted bays to the east with swept roofs. Additionally, there is a long single-storey wing to the rear on the left, which contains an entrance porch, probably added in the 20th century.
