Description

The cartshed located to the northwest of Bowden Hall is a disused structure dating from the 18th century. It is built from coursed gritstone rubble and features quoins. The roof is hipped and covered with stone slates, complete with stone ridges. The building is single storey and consists of three bays. On the east side, there is an open arcade supported by two large square piers set on massive stone bases, with timber lintels above. The other walls of the structure are blank. Notably, the roof timbers include some reused crucks.
