Description
Slackhall Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1727. It is constructed of coursed gritstone rubble with flush gritstone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The building features stone coped gables with moulded kneelers and stone stacks at the gable ends and ridge. It has two storeys and a double pile plan, with a double gabled front on the south elevation.
The central entrance is set in a two-storey niche and features a doorcase with a chamfered surround and a glazed 19th-century door. On either side of the entrance are pairs of 2-light chamfered mullion windows, which have a stringcourse above them. Above the door is a datestone decorated with floral and other designs, inscribed with 'STA1727'. Above this, there is a semi-circular headed single light window with carved designs in the spandrels. Flanking this window are pairs of similar windows to those below, also with a stringcourse above. The gables contain two blind oval windows. At the rear, there is a mullion and transom stair window, although the lower half is now blocked.
