Description

The Coach House, originally listed as Coach House Cottage, Ford Hall, is an early 19th-century house and garage. It is constructed from roughly-coursed gritstone rubble with quoins, featuring gritstone dressings and a stone slate roof. The building has stone ridge and side wall stacks, moulded stone copings with moulded kneelers, and corbels to the south elevation.

The layout is in an L-shape with sections of two and single storeys. The east elevation consists of a single-storey range to the south with a central semi-circular arched opening, chamfered and surrounded by quoins. This contains plank double doors. To the south of the arch is a small, multi-paned window and a semi-circular, chamfered doorcase with a plank door. To the north is a 20th-century top-hung casement window inserted alongside a two-story cross range. The cross range features a semi-circular headed doorcase with a quoined surround, a 20th-century plank door, and a fanlight above. A tripartite window sits to the north, with a similar window above. The building is included on the list for its group value.
