Description
Toll Bar Cottage is a cottage that was formerly a toll bar cottage, built around the 1830s. It is constructed from coursed squared gritstone with gritstone ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The gables are stone coped with moulded kneelers, and there are two central diamond-sectioned ridge stacks. The cottage is a single storey.
On the south elevation, there is a central door with a four-centred arch, which has a moulded hoodmould with return stops above it. The door is made of studded wood. Flanking the door are single lancet windows, each with a square hoodmould over and return stops. On the west gable wall, there is a 3-light chamfered mullion window with pointed heads to the lights and a flat hoodmould above with return stops.
